Sectors

COMMERCIAL

With growing economic uncertainty for business and industry and a changing planning framework James Wilson Associates can assist and guide companies seeking to expand or consolidate their business activities.
Wide ranging experience can be applied to commercial projects from assisting new and relocating companies to find the right accommodation or site to investigating grant funding and advice on infrastructure delivery.
Our experience includes developing Innovation Workspace for startup businesses, attracting inward investment to the County and negotiating with retailers on major public realm improvements.

RESIDENTIAL

Residential led development schemes have stalled in recent years due to the economic recession and lack of available credit to stimulate the mortgage market. Underlying demand for housing is still strong and many schemes could progress if conditions change. James Wilson Associates can provide a range of services for residential developers from promoting sites through the Development Plan to project managing the planning application process on new sites and renegotiating planning obligations.
Community engagement strategies can also be developed as a response to the Localism Act.
We have worked on major Sustainable Urban Extensions and smaller brownfield regeneration sites to urban infill plots. Our experience includes major consultation exercises on large developments with workshops and planning for real exercises.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Environmental issues have become a much greater consideration in regeneration and development projects in recent years.
Sustainability and renewable energy provisions are now expected integral elements of any proposal.
James Wilson Associates can provide a wide range of services both in house and from associate partners to address environmental concerns. This includes advice on national and local waste policy, renewable energy options and sustainability requirements from planning policy and a variety of environmental constraint reports.
We have experience of assessing compliance of planning applications against environmental legislation.

PUBLIC SECTOR

The present constraints on public sector finances is likely to continue for several years. The ability for local authorities to maintain sufficient capacity and experienced personnel to deliver their priorities will be severely tested. James Wilson Associates can supply a flexible resource that can help in delivering complex projects or provide
interim management solutions.

The Practice’s Director has extensive experience of management in Local Government at senior management team level undertaking strategic policy, service improvement and change management roles.
